The London Transport Museum - Sense and the City
I had the pleasure of working with two old friends on this project for The London Transport Museum, Andy Spencer, now Design Director of said establishment and Ben James of High Rise (or soon to be BenJames, as everyone seems to know of him and his skills...).
To quote the museum itself ‘Sense and the City: Explores how emerging technologies are changing the way we access and experience London and compares this with past visions of the future.’
My (small) part in this was to create designs for eight 32" touch screens and one 54" data visualisation screen, which pulls data from questions asked on the touch screens. I have to say the screens look beautiful, pin sharp and with an amazing luminosity.
I think the most exciting (and pleasing) part of this was seeing people actually interacting with my work, with more ‘conventional’ digital, like websites, tablet apps, etc. you never get this. All in all, the exhbition looks amazing and it really is a great museum. If you're around Covent Garden, go look, it's well worth it.
If you read my blog, you will have seen my giving of props to the rest of the team, but just in case you didn’t... My part in this was really rather small, in comparison to the others, who spent months and months labouring to make it all look ace. So, it”s only right to say... Andy S, Ben, Stephen, Charles, Anoushka and Vicky, I doff my hat to you!
