The 2012 Olympic Bid
Long before 'that' logo and even before freelance, I had the pleasure of working on the site for the London 2012 Olympic bid.
It was quite a steep learning curve at the time, as the site needed to be as accessible as possible (we managed around AA and a half/bit in the end) yet also engage/involve the whole of the UK. This involvement is one of the major influences on the IOC, no public support, no games. We included various elements on the site to facilitate this, but the 'back the bid' banner was probably the most successful. A user would submit their pledge to 'back the bid', then their name would appear on the banner, very simple really. In the end, London obviously won the bid, which i like to think I played a part in, and the site won a couple of awards (one a NMA). High fives all round.
